Leading Edge Partnership

The Leading Edge Partnership programme is an educational scheme organised by the Department for Children, Schools and Families in the United Kingdom. It was introduced in 2005 as a programme for High Performing Specialist Schools, a designation launched in 2004.

The programme is managed by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. Leading Edge is designed to enable high performing schools to share their expertise with other local schools in order to raise standards with particular emphasis on pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.

There are currently over 200 Leading Edge schools in around 100 local authorities.
